Bangaio Spirits is oddly entrancing

Took me a while, but I've made a few new sketches. Nothing spectacular, just enough to keep my pencil moving and to grant me the illusion that I might be improving (if only slightly). No explanation for the first one. Second pic is some Scott Pilgrim art (which is a great read, by the way).

Saved by the Bouyancy of Citrus

One sketch today, just in pencil. Did this while on the phone, with my original intent being something a bit more visceral and gory. If you look at the guy's face, you can see how I've been influenced by the art of Penny Arcade (ok screw it, this looks like I'm straight up biting the style, I'm a fuggin hack).

Tha difference betweens the womens and the goils is the degradation

Three sketches for today (got a new sketchpad and felt like diving into some serious art-type schtick). The first is a pic of Dethklok done in pencil. I suck at drawing guitars, which is why they're obscured.

I've decided to start asking friends to give me whatever combination of an adjective and a noun, then trying to draw it out. These are done much quicker, and have the potential to be odd. I'm hoping this'll keep me on my toes creatively. The first was a friend of mine who blurted out "tiny Sagat", and lo, a piece of fan art that shouldn't be has been birthed.

Next up is an entry from the girlfriend. "Slimy Tonsils". I only now realize I spelled it wrong, and I'll write it up as some kind of artistic reinterpretation of the word. As you can see, I took the easy way out, and drew from Dragon Quest as source material. I tried doing another version of a guy with stuff oozing from his mouth, but I think that's a little too far off the mark.

So can you hear me? Can you get hip to what I'm sayin'?

One post today, quickly thrown together before work. Done as a gift for the girlfriend. Micron pens, sizes 005 to 08, and prismacolors. Quote's taken from American Psycho, cause she digs the movie. As an aside, I want the shirt I drew for myself.

PS. Thanks to my shitty skill in rendering the human figure, one of her legs looks kinda sorta broken. I can either admit that the drawing sucks, or bust her kneecap to ensure that the drawing more accurately represents her. Leave comments as to which would work better.

Completely Uncalled For

Two posts tonight, because I like to spoil you guys. The first is an inked piece of Godzilla and Mothra, nothing spectacular. Micron pens, sizes 005 to 08. The second was a sketch I did for no reason other than to do something different. She's supposed to have arms, but I stopped working on it halfway. Still like it for some reason. A friend of mine says it reminds him of the Spumco style.

I can only fit in convertable cars, and my mom has a three-foot Cesarian scar thanks to my disproportionate head.

Nothing cool for today. Inked this on a whim the other day, and decided to use it for my facebook profile. S'not like my usual style, but was kinda fun to do nonetheless. Micron pens, sizes 005 to 08.

"I have passed an amount of urine into at least one of our many elegant fragrances."

I'm putting up two sketches today. Originally, I planned on sticking to one image a day, but figured that since these were simple (and pretty rough) that two would make the post worthwhile. I have no idea why I drew the little...cadaver? I'm still not sure what I had in mind when I drew it (it was just after I'd turned in my teaching portfolio, a wonderful end-of-semester project that robbed me of all but a scant few hours of sleep); apparently I was channeling Jon Morris during the second drawing (at least I think).

P.S. The title to this post is a book reference, guess right and you get a cookie.

In which matters of the ectoplasmic sort are discussed

Micron pens (sizes 005 to 08). I don't like how the cross-hatching came out. I'd write more about it, but it's fan art for the Super Mario Bros franchise. I can't go into some lengthy description/attempt to validate my choice of subject matter without sounding like a jackass.

See that first post? Yeah, ignore that.

Having accumulated a good amount of scanned sketches, I've decided to upload them to my own blog. Previously, my work was posted on my friend Steph's blog; nothing against sharing a blog, but I'd like to have my own (besides, somehow my work and hers would get confused). Anyways, I'm going to try and limit my posts to one sketch each. Might post more if I get around to it, or feel that the one I've uploaded doesn't justify having the entire post to itself (some of my stuff is crap, I'm the first to admit it).

With that out of the way, here's a Gundam enjoying a sandwich.
